This project began with a simple question: How can we better honor the words that mean the most to us?
A year ago, I wanted to give my wife something truly special for her birthday. Like many other members of our faith, she held her patriarchal blessing in high regard.
What is a Patriarchal Blessing? For those who may be unfamiliar with the term, a patriarchal blessing is a sacred, personal document within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Given by an ordained patriarch, it serves as a roadmap of inspired guidance for an individual’s life. It typically includes a declaration of one’s lineage and specific promises or counsel intended to aid in personal growth and spiritual development. Because these blessings are considered personal revelation, they are held in high regard—often treated with the same reverence as scripture.
However, the physical copy my wife held was faded, tattered, and resembled a standard business document—it didn’t quite match the reverence she felt for the message it contained.
I decided to retype her blessing, but I didn’t want to stop there. Inspired by the familiar, authoritative, and beautiful typography of the Book of Mormon, I spent time reformatting her words into a "chapter" that felt as significant as the message itself. The result wasn't just a document; it was a keepsake.
The response from family and friends was immediate. Many people had their own meaningful journals, blessings, or personal writings tucked away in desk drawers, waiting for a way to be presented with the dignity they deserve.
I built this application to help you do the same. We provide the tools to take your personal text—whether it’s a blessing, a journal entry, or a collection of thoughts—and format it with the classic, clean, and timeless aesthetic of the Book of Mormon.
We believe the medium is part of the message. Our tool allows you to:
